Service Description

This workshop will teach you how to make a simple Japanese woodcut print from three blocks of wood. You will learn cutting, registration and inking techniques and print onto Japanese washi. Week 1. simple one colour block print to understand cutting, inking and registration techniques. Start design process for creation of own three block print Week 2. separating the colours and transferring the design to woodblocks, cutting Kento marks for registraion. Cutting the block Week 3 , cutting the blocks Week 4. testing colour combinations, proof printing, refining the blocks Week 5. printing the final image All materials are included.
