New year resolutions and holiday sketching

I was inspired by a talk at the weekend by Tanya Willis of The Good Ship Illustration, to start writing a blog again. No idea how many people still read blogs but I'll give it a go and figure out how to get it 'out there' along the way.

I spent some of the holiday in Siem Reap Cambodia and took a tiny sketchbook with me. Traveling with family doesn't always allow a lot of time for holiday sketching, especially when I am the family tour guide, but if you put aside feeling self conscious about getting out a sketchbook, you'll find you can sketch pretty much anywhere. I sometimes get a bit caught up in the finished sketch and how it looks and what would other people think if they were looking at my sketchbook, but this time my sketching was purely for the fun of sketching. Just whiling away some time doing something I absolutely love to do.
